Choosing The Right Bridesmaid Dress for Different Sized Bridesmaids

bridesmaid dress samples

Everyone’s bodies are shaped differently and it isn’t likely that all your relatives and friends chosen to be bridesmaids will be the same size.  Even those with that are the same size have different features they’d rather not show off.  Finding the same bridesmaid dress for all the ladies would be difficult and some may not like it.     These reasons make choosing a dress seem near impossible.  It is possible to find a dress that everyone will be satisfied with, but it may not be easy.  These tips can help you in your dressing choosing venture.

Body Types

Look at your bridesmaids’ body type closely. Have a photo of each girl alone and try to imagine how a dress would look on her. Which of her features (belly, butt, boobs) should be hidden and which should be highlighted?

The Right Colors

Black is a slimming color that covers up most embarrassing flaws, making a girl feel more comfortable.   Dark colors are better than bright or light colors for hiding flaws.  Though color can reveal a lot, cut and style also make a difference.

Dress Fabric

If you are large or small, some fabrics are unforgiving regardless.  Satin, fitted silk, and spandex blends should be avoided at all costs.  Choose rayon blend, chiffon, or polyester cotton blend as alternatives. They will stretch rather than squeeze and enhance unwanted features.

Sleeves

What do one’s arms look like in a sleeveless dress.  Strapless and sleeveless dresses don’t look flattering for some women.  Take this into consideration when looking at dress styles.  If some of you bridesmaids don’t want to wear sleeveless but you really want to go that route, offer allowing them to wear a shawl or wrap to cover up if they are uncomfortable.

Accessories

Adding shawl, belts, gloves, and bolero jackets will change the look of a dress and bring unity to the style.  To cover up belly bulk or accent a small waistline, try using a wide ribbon as belts can define a waistline.   Bolero jackets can add style or hide unsightly arm flabbiness.

Fitting Style

It’s not necessary for all bridesmaids to wear the exact same dress.  It is quite common for the bride to choose different dresses of a specific color but allow each girl to choose the style that fits them best.  This makes everything coordinated and similar while allowing for different neckline, length and format.

Now you can get an elegant, satin, made-to-measure bridesmaid dress for as low as .
