Making Your Father Of The Bride Wedding Toast
It can be a daunting prospect when you know you have to deliver a wedding speech. The majority of us never have the need to speak to a large group of people in our normal lives.
Which is why some people find that standing in front of everyone at the wedding celebration and speak to everyone about your daughter can be very intimidating. Marriages are a very happy and exciting time and everyone looks forward to the wedding with great anticipation and excitement.
There are certain special people involved in the day who will make speeches there is also an extra concern and worry about the day. For any father the task of making a father of the bride speech should be the most proud moment you have ever felt in your life and it can be if you are organized and well prepared.
Planning and preparation are very helpful in giving you the confidence to make your speech and delight and please your daughter. A rubbish wedding speech will please no-one so don't leave it until the last minute and begin thinking about it at least a week before the big day.
List all the different points you want to mention in the father of the bride speech you make. Begin by welcoming the guests and saying how you appreciate them being there with you on this special day of your daughter and her new bridegroom getting married.
It is customary to then describe some of the amusing anecdotes of your daughter growing up but avoid the temptation to say things she might find embarrassing. These little anecdotes should be short and not too serious because your purpose is to entertain with amusing stories for your guests to enjoy and remember.
You can mention some of the things your daughter has achieved that made you proud of her and say that you are confident her husband will be proud of her too. Write down all your ideas and write a few lines about each point you want to mention.
When you have a rough speech written read it out loud to yourself you should edit any parts where you stumbled with the words or it doesn't sound right. Now do it again reading out loud to yourself and keep on doing these steps until everything feels right about your father of the bride speech.
Your confidence will increase as you go over the speech and you will find you are happy and you will actually start looking forward to making your speech and your daughter will be proud of her dad making such a great brides father speech.
You will stand up proudly and speak eloquently of the importance of the day and what a pleasure it has been to have a daughter like her.
When you raise your wedding toast glasses and toast the bride and groom you will make your daughter proud of you, the guests will be most impressed with you and you will feel very proud of yourself for speaking so well.
